Independent UK developer Rebellion has announced that the Zombie Army has finally released in Germany for the PC.
When the DLC pack first released it was banned from Germany due to there being a lot of Nazi flags in the game, something which is banned by German laws. They have now modified the game and removed all of these, taking nothing away from the core gameplay of Zombie Army.
The developers worked closely with the Germany authorities to make sure that they retained the atmosphere and fast-paced action whilst respecting the local laws.
Rebellion CEO and Creative Director Jason Kingsley had the following to say: "We’re delighted we can bring Sniper Elite: Zombie Army to gamers in Germany so soon after the original’s release in other territories. The occult Nazi horror was crucial to the creative vision we had for the game and we were aware that some of the Nazi imagery would probably prevent it being released there, so I’m really proud of the work our development team has done to ensure the edited edition shares the same atmosphere and gameplay of the original".
