The latest update to the Steam beta client has finally added something that a lot of people have been asking for. An FPS counter overlay, meaning that you no-longer have to rely on third-party software!

Previously you would have to fire up something such as FRAPS or DxTory to check what frame rate you were getting, which more often than not, you forget to do so. The update will more than likely appear in the main-stream release of Steam within the next few weeks, so don't fret about being forced over to the beta version of Steam.

Cheers, VG24/7
