Valve's next project with Steam is the Steam Music service, which lets users listen to their playlists and music directly through Steam.

They have revealed more details on the feature now. You will be able to browse your collection in both Artist and Album view once you have linked Steam to your local music directory.

You will also be able to manage and access the music player whilst in-game just by accessing the Steam overlay.

The Steam Music beta will be available to anyone using Big Picture and SteamOS, with desktop functionality to come at a later date.

If you want to get your hands on the Steam Music beta then join the Steam group to get the chance to receive an invite.
