PC gamers that are picking up South Park: The Stick of Truth can rejoice as the Ubisoft published game will not require UPlay, as the entire game will be using Steamworks.
Obsidian Entertainment responded to a fans question on Twitter about the service and said that "No, Uplay will not be featured in SP:SOT."

UPlay has always been a massive pain, especially when it doesn't work right, or has to update every time you run it. Then to top that all off Ubisoft decided to go through Steam to load up UPlay to then update through UPlay to get in a game, just a massive hassle.
Maybe we might start to see more Ubisoft published games use Steamworks instead? South Park: The Stick of Truth will be releasing digitally on March 4th for NA, March 6th down under and March 7th in Europe.
