We first heard about the Early Access plans for H1Z1 back in early December, thanks to a Reddit post from SOE president John Smedley.
The game has now appeared on Steam and the launch of the Early Access program begins on January 15th, which isn't all that far away. Once again a reminder that the game will be incomplete, buggy, yadadada, you've heard it all before.
Notes on the Early Access release say that the design and development process of the game will be "fully transparent," giving you the chance to experience and make a different in H1Z1 as it progresses through the development stages.
The H1Z1 development team will continue to create new features and may make significant changes based on the needs of the game. Those who choose to purchase Early Access should anticipate an evolving feature set, bugs, incomplete content, missing features, and potentially game breaking issues.
I'm sure a lot of you will compare this to a certain other game in Early Access all about zombie survival, but we'll have to wait and see how H1Z1 compares to that. If you want more information head on over to the Steam page.
