The Oculus Rift is certainly a popular device amongst a lot of people at the minute and it is most definitely changing the way that we play games now and in the future.

Valve, not one to miss out, have announced a new experimental mode for Steam which links in with the Oculus Rift.

Whilst speaking on the Steam forums Joe Ludwig explained how to activate the mode which shows the Steam interface as if it is floating on a big screen in front of you.

As of the most recent Steam Client Beta steam now supports an experimental VR mode.

If you own an Oculus Rift dev kit you can try it out by starting Steam with "-vr" on the command line. Then press the Big Picture button to enter Big Picture + VR mode.

An interesting idea, and something that does actually make sense. At least you can now browse to your favourite Oculus Rift enabled game straight from the Oculus Rift, which should make life easier!
